Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
Sometimes that is the only prayer I have – and it is enough.
When I’m waiting for an answer that doesn’t come and I know no more prayers to pray, I utter His name — Jesus.
When the night is long and I can’t sleep, I whisper — Jesus.
When I’ve lost my way, I cry out to the One who has not lost me. I pray — Jesus.
When I’m tired and I can’t see rest ahead, when all strength is gone, I breathe His name — Jesus.
When I am in pain, I remember the One who can heal, and I plead — Jesus.
If I’m afraid, I bear in mind that I have a Shield whose name is — Jesus.
He is my Savior and my Lord, my Shelter and my Comforter.
He gives me sanctuary under His wing and supplies me with restoration and peace.
He is the Holy Lamb of God, the One who comes with compassion and new hope.
He is my Faithful Friend and the Radiant Light on this earth’s journey.
He is the Way of all righteous, the ever-abiding Truth, and the Life of love and joy.
He is the Mighty and Eternal God,
And I know His name.
It is JESUS!
Not much to say except Wow!
Thank you, Susan. You are the one who taught me about praying just His name when that was all we could do. I’m so grateful to you for that.
My eyes widened at your truthful words. Thank you so much for reminding us.
Within an hour after my son died, and as his body lay in the next room, there was a point where all I could say was, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” I ran to him. Now, years later, I need to practice this.
God bless you, Pat!
Oh, Jean Ann, how grateful I am to know these words the Holy Spirit gave were a blessing to you. A close friend taught me about praying His name. She said when she went through a very tough time and the pain was so deep, all she could say was “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” and she found it was enough. I’ve used it over and over since then, for none of my words of petition can ever reach the beauty, the strength, or the might of His name.
Pat I know often I do not know how to pray about a situation & all I can say is Jesus. I feel that makes me as close to him as I can get at that particular moment. I really enjoyed the song in prayer group yesterday. I pray you touch as many hearts and souls as possible! God bless you.
I agree with you, Vickie. Just saying His name brings us deep into His presence. What a blessing to have Jesus always with us and lovingly available to hear our every need. Thank you for following “Prayerful Pondering” and for your prayers.
This is beautiful, Pat. Thanks for sharing it.
Thank you, Beth. I often hear people around me at church whispering “Jesus” and it is a beautiful sound. Whether petitioning or praising or giving thanks — Jesus!
